Course Description

Focuses on the nursing process and on nursing care of patients in the following areas: behavioral responses; regulatory mechanisms; metabolic mechanisms; and congenital anomalies, genetic disorders, and development problems. Includes both acute and long-term needs and problems of medical-surgical patients, psychiatric, and pediatric patients. Assumes the knowledge of anatomy and physiology, emotional and physical development, microbiology, and nutrition generally expected of the associate degree nurse. (This is a required examination for the Excelsior College nursing degrees. Multiple choice examination.)
